Founded in 2016, Cornell Anderson LLC is a locally owned and operated law firm focusing on family law matters. Our attorneys have over 24 years combined experience serving clients throughout Lake County, Illinois.
Prior to establishing our firm, both of our attorneys practiced with well-known Lake County firms and developed a comprehensive knowledge of the county legal system. They are here to help you successfully navigate it and achieve the results you deserve.
Both attorneys continue to focus their practice in Lake County and are actively involved in the Lake County legal community, serving as board members and committee members for the Lake County Bar Association and Association of Women Attorneys of Lake County.

Patricia L. Cornell earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin-Parkside and received her Juris Doctor from John Marshall Law School. In 2013, she was sworn-in before the Supreme Court of the United States. Originally from Lake County, Illinois, she has been practicing law in Lake County for over fourteen years with experience in all areas of family law including parental allocation responsibilities (formerly called custody), parenting time privileges, prenuptial agreements, child support, maintenance, paternity, post-decree actions and civil litigation. She is a court-approved mediator and court-appointed Child Representative and Guardian Ad Litem.
She is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association, Inns of Court, Lake County Bar Association and Association of Women Attorneys of Lake County. Currently, she serves as a Board Member for the Lake County Bar Association and Inns of Court. She is also now serving on the Family Law Section Council of the Illinois State Bar Association.
In 2007, she was awarded the President’s Award for Outstanding Young Lawyer from the Lake County Bar Association for her involvement. In the community, she is actively involved with AMVETS Auxiliary 35, Teen Court through NICASA and the Holy Family Soup Kitchen.
